Muse du jour: Charlotte Gainsbourg

One of my favorite style icons of all time. She combines effortless chic with androgynous style like nobody's business. I was so happy when Nicholas Guesquiere picked her for the Balenciaga campain.Enough talking, let's look at some of my favorite editorials(French Vogue and Elle), ads, and pics of lovely Charlotte.

Men's Vogue will publish only twice a year!

According to a spokesperson for Condé Nast, Men's Vogue will be "absorbed" into Vogue and will only publish in Spring and Fall. This is a result of cutbacks throuhout the company. My question is what would happen to people's current subscriptions.. I mean you pay for 10 issues and you only get 2?!! In the meantime please enjoy the cover of the current and last issue of Men's Vogue, featuring Daniel Craig..Sigh!

A new addition to the Vogue family

Vogue India is here. It's funny how they used Gemma Ward on the cover again, if you recall they did a similar thing when they launched Vogue China. Here's what the first issue cover looks like:

Style inspiration: Kate Lamphear

She is a fashion editor at Elle USA..but her style is so French Vogue to me (effortless, chic and original). Enjoy the pics!

Nicholas Kirkwood equals shoegasm!!

I am absolutely head over heels(literally) for Nicholas Kirwood's creations. The talented britt shoe designer is just starting to get recognition in the U.S, and for good reasons..Just look at the genius of his creations!!

Back in business: Briefcase bags

If you are like me and tend to overstuff your handbags, you will absolutely love the new bag trend: Briefcase bags! Not only does this provide a change from the usual arm candy options available to us ladies, but it also adds functionality. Urban outfitters carries a chic messenger style briefcase bag and it's only $58.

Zuhair Murad:East meets West

Let me tell you about the genius with a capital "G" of Zuhair Murad..This young and talented lebanese designer is HUUUUUUUUGE in the Arab world. He recently started getting worldwide recognition and many Hollywood A listers are sporting his designs on the red carpet.

The first time I saw Zuhair Murad's designs, which was about two years ago, I thought to myself:" This guy is going to design my wedding gown". and let me tell you I haven't changed my mind as of yet!
Here are some of Zuhair Murad's haute couture frocks..Move over Elie Saab!!!

Fringe benefits at Alessandro Dell'Acqua

One of my favorite designers of all time strikes again. Dell'Acqua's Spring 09 Pret-a-porter collection was to die for! I absolutely love how he played off fringes with muted colors to create a softer look. What a great way to wear the fringe trend without looking like Pocahontas.
Here are some of my favorite looks from his collection..Ciao Bella!

Runway favorite: Balmain

I am absolutely in awe of Balmain's Spring 09 pret-a-porter collection. Christophe Decarnin incorporates denim and sequins in the military trend for an effortlessly chic look. I also love the denim washes he used. To contrast the more casual first looks, the second half of the Balmain show included gorgeous embellished bandage style dresses. Decarnin truly understands a woman's body and plays with proportions and silhouettes so well. Here are some of my favorite looks..Trust me I had such a hard time narrowing down the looks..I love them all, and most importantly I would wear them all. Isn't that what Pret-a-Porter is all about?

Ripped jeans are back in!!!!

I for once I'm happy that ripped jeans are making a comeback! Why? You may ask. Well simply because I have this pair of skinny Kova & T jeans that fit me like a glove and I guess I've been wearing them way too much causing them to rip at one knee. so now I'm thinking, why invest in a new pair of ripped premium denim when I can do the ripping myself-thank you very much. On a more serious fashion note, I do love these blank jeans because they channel the ripped jeans trend yet still make you look put together beacause of their tailored fit. the 2008/2009 ripped denim trend is not meant to be done in a sloppy way ladies..We'll leave that to Katie Holmes!!

Blank splatter zipper jeans $88
Golde sequin vest $245
Kain long sleeve T $88
MJ multi pocket patent leather bag $1150
Rupert Sanderson Kit Kat shoe boots $1100-OMG I absolutely love these booties, they are to die for..I mean you got me at Kit Kat! Yummy..
